Our journey
Dr. Ambedkar Mission is a non-governmental organisation of the North Eastern Region of India. Its operations began in 1994-95. with the establishment of a nursery school in the village of Dhopatari near Changsari, around 24 km from Guwahati in Kamrup district.
The organisation was registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 in 1997. Today it works through programmes in healthcare, education, rural development, women and child development, vocational training, handicraft and community awareness.
Registration
The Mission is registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 bearing Registration No. KAM/240/F/333 of 1997-1998, dated 31 October 1997.
Our approach
We believe that a conducive and productive environment can be achieved only when the different dimensions of development are addressed together. Our work combines basic social services, education, community participation and awareness so that disadvantaged people can better understand the social, political and economic factors affecting their lives.
